Jambalaya

This is a doubled recipe:

2 lbs. ground beef

1 large bag of seasoning blend (frozen chopped bell peppers and onions)

1/2 small bag of frozen chopped bell peppers

1 heaping tsp of minced garlic

2 pkgs. of beef sausage

1 bunch of green onions (to your liking)

3 cups of raw brown rice

9 cups of water

salt to taste

texjoy steak seasoning to taste (from scratch recipe is at bottom)

Add beef, seasoning blend and bell peppers to large pot and cook.  Salt and pepper to taste. Cook until vegetables are tender.  Add sausage and green onions.  Cook until sausage is heated through.  Add rice, water, seasonings and bring to a boil.  Cover with a lid and simmer until rice is done.  (about 1 hour)

Steak seasoning recipe:  1 tsp salt, 1 tsp paprika, 1/2 tsp black pepper, 1/4 tsp onion powder, 1/4 tsp garlic powder, 1/4 tsp cayenne and a pinch of turmeric.
